The Department for Interethnic Relations (DIR) – Government of Romania is organizing on March 20, 2024, in Bucharest, in hybrid format, the debate on Integrating diversity and multilingualism in drafting local/regional strategies.

The initiative is part of the project PA3_CLOSE – Recovery through CuLture, tOuriSm and peoplE-to-people contacts in the Danube Region financed by the Danube Region Programme and aims to provide greater visibility to the cultural dimensions of the Priority Areas within the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region, including activities and objectives which have an impact on the cultural and linguistic identity of the communities in the Danube Region and on the role of these components in the development of local and regional strategies.

The debate, which will bring together representatives of the local public administration authorities, the diplomatic corps, from the academic environment, central public institutions and non-governmental organizations, intends to increase the linguistic and cultural potential of the Danube region, essential for local cohesion but also for a mutual understanding of cultures coexisting.

As we consider your experience and contribution to be particularly important, we invite you to save the date and to be part actively in the debate on Integrating diversity and multilingualism in drafting local/regional strategies, on March 20, 2024, in Bucharest, between 10:00 – 15:00 (local time)
