This event aims to foster a constructive dialogue on sustainable mobility by integrating travel as an intrinsic element of the tourist experience and promoting inclusive tourism accessible to all social groups. Furthermore, it will explore the development of innovative ecotourism services, with particular emphasis on nature-based solutions that protect the environment while enriching visitor engagement. Central to the discussions will be the role of cultural heritage as a catalyst for the green transition, alongside the celebration of local cuisine as a key pillar of sustainable tourism development.
Additionally, the panel will address how examples and initiatives from other regions and macro-regions can offer valuable insights and best practices to strengthen sustainable tourism development in the Danube region, thereby fostering cross-regional cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Key themes to be addressed include:
- Cultural heritage as a driver of the green transition and sustainable development;
- Sustainable mobility – travel as a destination;
- New ecotourism services with a special focus on nature-based solutions in tourism;
- Inclusive tourism and opportunities in blue tourism;
